Northland Storage is owned and operated by Fred Kraft. The business was founded in 1989 when Fred purchased the old Viking Building and converted the front portion of the building into storage units.

Fred grew up in the small farm community of Karlsruhe, ND. He graduated from Minot State University in 1966 with a B.S. Degree in Education. He taught school and coached sports in the communities of Mohall and Crosby, ND.

Fred served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970 and is a Vietnam Veteran. He has a combined experience of 12 years in government service and 30 years in private business.

Fred is married to Della (34 years) and has 5 children and 4 grandchildren.

Northland Storage currently has 570 units at two sites and recently completed Phase 5 of a ten phase project. Fred's daughter, Sandy Grumann, serves as the Storage Manager and is on site from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays.

In addition to ownership of Northland Storage, Fred also owns and operates Northland Auto Auction in Mandan.
